Our History &
Philosophy

Kenmok Limited was incorporated in 1994 as a security company and later transitioned into a real estate business in 2000. In 2007, the company sold its security business to focus its resources on real estate. However, it continues to maintain a small private security division known as Kenmok Property Security to safeguard its assets and properties under management.

Today, Kenmok is one of the few successful, nationally owned real estate companies that has experienced significant growth over the past two decades. With assets valued at approximately K100 million, it has successfully navigated challenges while capitalizing on the steady growth of the country’s Gross National Product (GNP) over the last 10 years.

Once the real estate division proved successful, Kenmok expanded by establishing Kenmok Finance, a mini-financing company that provides small loans, primarily to public servants, especially those in the healthcare sector. Recently, Kenmok entered the serviced apartment market, responding to the demand for high-quality, spacious accommodations with state-of-the-art facilities and amenities.

To support its real estate business, Kenmok has developed an experienced construction and maintenance team. Over the past decade, the company has successfully completed several challenging projects, including the Koitachi Haus New Wing, a three-level commercial office complex, and the construction of the three-level serviced apartment building, Nuana Vista.

More recently, Kenmok seized the opportunity to acquire a high-rise, eight-level building in the Central Business District of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. This building has been named Ombudsman Commission Haus and is now home to the Ombudsman Commission of PNG. Additionally, the company acquired the three-level PNG Electoral Commission building, which houses the PNG Electoral Commission.

Kenmok also provides property management services for not only its own buildings but also for other prominent structures, such as Oakley Haus. The Kenmok services team brings together expertise in various areas, including:

  • Design expertise and experience
  • Housing services
  • Building solutions
  • Project management services
  • Building and related engineering work
  • Property management services

The future of Kenmok looks promising, and the company is poised for continued expansion. Currently, Kenmok plays several key roles:

  • Serving as the main contractor for small to medium-sized construction and building projects
  • Offering project management services to coordinate specialized trades for industrial and commercial projects
  • Providing design input and engineering solutions as value-added services to clients
  • Issuing loans to clients, especially government employees
  • Offering serviced apartments for short-term stays

Kenmok’s objective is to provide its clients with an “I am assured” experience when selected to execute projects. The company places great emphasis on clear communication, meticulous planning, and the execution of all processes. Its construction, real estate, and engineering philosophy includes:

  • Detailed schedules and resource planning to meet client objectives
  • Clear communication with all project stakeholders
  • Tracking project progress and adjusting for any deviations
  • Close supervision to ensure quality of work
  • Timely project completion and commissioning

Kenmok takes pride in its commitment to excellence, ensuring that only the most experienced and qualified staff serve its clients, at all times.
